Case Study: IBL
Over the past 20 years, Strategyzer methodology has empowered global companies to innovate and develop new growth engines. One such company was IBL, a multi-sector conglomerate in Mauritius with over 26,000 team members.
Facing major disruptions in the global market, IBL’s innovation team piloted a clear, evidence-based approach to innovation within one unit of its Seafood sector. They aimed to explore how innovation could build resilience and drive steady growth.
IBL adopted Strategyzer methodology and the same platform that powers our Innovation Creator program.
The Journey
The initiative was led by Innovation Manager Alvinesh Jugun, under the leadership of Delphine Lagesse (Group Strategic Innovation & Excellence Executive). The teams followed the process to run experiments, gather evidence, and gain insights into whether their new ideas could lead to profitable business models. The platform equipped them with the tools, processes, and skills needed to drive innovation at pace.
The Impact
The teams were able to work through a backlog of ideas, pivoting or discarding those that lacked desirability or viability. Their decisions were guided by a newly made panel using evidence provided by the Seafood teams. To ensure scalability, they also identified and trained “Innovation ambassadors” to champion the approach across other businesses in the future.
The initiative positions IBL and its Seafood Cluster on a trajectory towards greater competitiveness and resilience on the global market.
